A commission is a unique collaboration between artist and organization. It is an original work of art that captures the values, ideas and beliefs of your institution.

The Park, 54” x 60” - oil on canvas - Anthony House, Rochester, NY

The above oil painting was created for an urban community room in Rochester, New York  called Anthony House.  The images in this work emerged as a result of a brain storming collaboration between myself and members of the community where Anthony House is located.

The painting below is a triptych created to fill a specific space in the entrance of Sinai Temple in Springfield, MA.  After working closely with the board, we developed the concept of linking three important holidays and rituals- interweaving them with the changing seasons.

The last painting was created for Temple Beth David in Westwood, MA. It was designed to commemorate the dedication of a new sanctuary (the original building was destroyed by arson). Together, with the members of the congregation, we decided that the painting should depict a Purim celebration to express the theme of triumph over adversity, and, to celebrate the spirit of joy in the congregation.

I have also created works for hospitals, senior living centers, schools and community centers. In the winter and spring of 2002, I will be working on a commission for a new community center in downtown Rochester, NY.
